After 14h of sleep I woke up, eat breakfast and went to bed for another hour. At 14:00 I headed to the Ljubljana city centre to meet my dad for lunch. Nice fat steak and a glass of wine was all I needed before I headed back home to sleep for another hour. Well quite a few more hours will be on the calendar in the upcoming days. I slept on average 6,5h a day during our trip. Three less the usually so ninety hours will be hard to get back 🙂 Let's see how we manage 😂 I have to admit Ljubljana is still the pretties city I know 😉 US was nice but not as nice 😛Anyway to wrap up. USA Jamboree was a first proper brain turn of I had in six year. Well proper vacation since I enrolled to university.We travelled to 5 countries: Austria, Slovenia, USA, France, Netherlands in 26 days. We visited 7 USA states and 19 cities. We stayed in 36 places and did 5 flights. Not that bad to do this with 176 Slovenians 🙂 We lived in a small city that existed for only 13 days. How cool is that. Our public transport:If I have to rate the Jamboree I would go with 7/10. Not because of the pre-travels but the Jamboree event itself. Swedes had set a pretty high bar back in 2011. Activities were nice but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was in an entertainment park. Opening and closing ceremony was not really a party but more of a light-show. There was lots to do but I don't know I was missing something. Stories that we experienced will always stay in my memory. As will all of the connections. Being a unit leader has it's own perks. If kids behave you have 95 percent of free time every day. Mine did behave so I had time to do pretty much anything over the course of the Jamboree. I'll definitely remember the shaking bridge and coordinating group photo shoots. They were quite a challenge but also a lot of fun to do. My unit. I hope you had fun. I certainly did. I also hope you learned a few lessons. Half of you got burned out at some point. Let that be a lesson of what your body can survive. Some learned that shoes do wear out. I think I might have to replace mine to 😉Then there's the Contingent member team. I bow. All the work you've put into our trip paid off in the end 😉 Uros thanks for being an amazing boss and keeping it together under pressure. Jasna for planing out every detail of our trip. I still think that without the planing we wouldn't see as much as we did. Emil for supplying us with least junky American food that Walmart has to offer. We noticed you efforts when we came to the crappy shop at the Jamboree site. Eva thanks for all the gear. It was supper useful and will used in the future 😉 Thanks for letting me be a part of the PR team. Mojca deep respect for the nerves for taking on the financial part. I would have lost it several times probably with all the mess of bills we made. Hana thanks for not loosing it with all of our medical complaints. As far as my unit goes we did pretty well I think 🙂 Urban thanks for helping us out when we needed it the most. Information, muscles whatever was needed 😉
Jamboree blogging
I have to admit that I brought up blogging up a notch from 2011. Instead of one blog post half a year after a Jamboree I managed to write one post each day. So yeah covering this Jamboree has been probably my biggest PR project yet. To be honest I didn't take much time to photograph in the last 6 years. I guess I should set a side more time for photography in the future.Travis asked me during the Jamboree: 'Why are you writing the blog?' I said mostly for my self to have a journal what happened. Sorry readers. Yeah, yeah it was written also for you 😉
